From Events to Usage Stories
A short method for turning analytics events into narratives stakeholders can brief.
Raw event tables rarely change a roadmap. A usage story does: who did what, over which window, with what result, and what you should try next.
Write each story as if a new teammate must retell it. Name the events, the cohort, the exclusions, and the decision the story supports. Test edge cases—staff accounts, trials, and bots—before you share.
Once the story is stable, attach one primary metric it is meant to move. That pairing is what makes usage analytics useful instead of decorative.
